Portugal remains in sixth place in the FIFA rankings, the position it held in the April update, in a hierarchy that continues to be led by Argentina.
By TPN/Lusa, in News, Portugal, Sport · 21 Jun 2024, 12:02 · 0 Comments
The Portuguese team returned to sixth place in April, after having ‘fallen’ to seventh in November last year.
Now, not counting the Euro2024 games, but including the three friendly matches played immediately before – victories against Finland (4-2) and Republic of Ireland (3-0) and defeat against Croatia (1-2), Portugal remains on the edge of the top 5.

The world ranking continues to be led by Argentina, which has remained at the top since April 2023, that is, in the first update after winning the 2022 World Cup, followed by France, runner-up, which remains in second place, ahead of Belgium, third.

The only changes among the top 10 places occurred with Brazil’s rise to fourth place, in exchange with England, now fifth, and with Croatia’s rise to ninth place, to the detriment of Italy, 10th.
