Contributors to Polk County’s run to the 1A West Regional girls soccer final have been recognized with awards from the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference as well as recognition from the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association.
Junior Jessica Baird has been named the league’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year, sharing the award with Brevard’s Abby Huter. Polk head coach Lennox Charles has been named the MF7 Co-Coach of the Year with Brevard’s Craig Long.
Four other Polk County players earned all-conference honors – Jasmine Baird, Elena Carroll, Caroline Taylor and Mia Wolfe.
The same five Polk County players have also been named to the NCSCA 1A All-Region 11 team, with Charles named the 1A Region 11 Coach of the Year.
Hendersonville’s Maggie Bish was named the MF7 Player of the Year. The complete MF7 girls soccer All-Conference squad includes:

Polk County also held its annual year-end awards banquet on Sunday and recognized the following players:
