PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer team, led by Hall of Fame head coach Randy Waldrum, announced its 2025 spring schedule Friday morning. The Panthers will play six exhibition matches with the final five of those coming at Ambrose Urbanic Field in preparation for the 2025 season.
The Panthers open the spring Saturday, Feb. 22 with an indoor game against Duquesne at AHN Sports Complex at Cool Springs. First kick is set for 7 p.m.
The home slate at Ambrose Urbanic Field features matches with Kent State (March 1 – 6 p.m.), North Toronto Nitros (March 22 – 9:30 a.m.), Saint Francis (March 26 – 7:30 p.m.), Youngstown State (March 29 – 6 p.m.), and Bowling Green (April 6 – 5 p.m.).
Pitt is coming off a solid 2024 campaign that saw the Panthers finish 9-6-3 overall and 3-5-2 in the ACC. Four of the six losses came to ranked opponents, while the Panthers also battled No. 14 Georgia and No. 6 Stanford to draws on the road. Sarah Schupansky and Deborah Abiodun both earned Second Team All-ACC and Second Team All-Atlantic Region honors before signing professional contracts with NWSL teams.
The Panthers lose five of their top six goal scorers from last season but return a solid core of players led by goalie Ellie Breech, center back Katie Zailski, outside back Olivia Lee, forward Lucia Wells and midfielder Magali Gagne.
