FARGO, ND (Dakota News Now) -We hear about Cam Miller all the time when you talk about North Dakota State. But I prefer to mention Pierre native Grey Zabel who was named 1st team All-American today.
He knew this would be a season he’d need to step up as a leader. So what kind of extra pressure does that add?
Grey Zabel, NDSU Senior OL says, “I wouldn’t say pressure, more of an honor. It’s really an honor to be in that role and be that leader of the ram room and stuff and so being the best I can be is huge. Obviously I have a lot of help as well with Mason being in there and being the great player he is so it’s truly been an honor so far.”
Mason Miler, NDSU Senior OL says, “He’s taken it and ran with it. He’s just a superior leader. Probably one of the best leaders I’ve ever been around and that’s saying a lot. I’ve been around guys like Cody Mauch, Cordell Volson all really really great chief rams. It’s really great to see him just excel at that position it yeah, it’s cool to see because I can bounce ideas off of him. He helps me become a better leader and I hope I can do the same for him.”
The Bison host Defending Champion SDSU Saturday morning at 11 o’clock on ABC (KSFY) following our hour long pre-game show. The 2nd-seeded Bison beat #3 South Dakota State 13-9 in October at the Fargodome.
