EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The Sonnentag is now the home for weekly pickup soccer games.
Players, and anyone interested, can meet at the Fieldhouse every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
$5 is what anyone needs to bring with them, and of course a kicking spirit.
Continuing pickup soccer games through the cold winter months is the goal for organizer Larry Mboga.
A group page on Facebook is how the community connects, and it is over a thousand members strong.
“Soccer, we speak one language here. We don’t care where you’re from. Which background. We just speak one language. It’s just about the community coming together and have fun,” said Mboga.
May is the expected month for outdoor pickup games to resume at Bollinger Fields.
Mboga said everyone, regardless of gender and at least 7-years-old, is welcomed to join.
