Inter Miami CF defender Jordi Alba is keeping it real about the challenges ahead in the 2025 Club World Cup.
The MLS team is gearing up to face off against some of Europe’s biggest powerhouses, and Alba knows it won’t be easy.
FIFA’s president, Gianni Infantino, recently confirmed that Inter Miami will be the final MLS team competing in the tournament after clinching the 2024 Supporters’ Shield.
This puts them in the same ring as Manchester City, the 2023 Champions League winners, and Real Madrid, who claimed the title in both 2022 and 2024.
Alba emphasized the importance of the competition, saying, “The Club World Cup is important for Inter Miami, in general, I think it is important to face those types of teams.”
The tournament kicks off with Inter Miami hosting the opening match at Hard Rock Stadium on July 15, 2025.
While their first opponent hasn’t been confirmed yet, the 32-team event will take place across 12 U.S. stadiums, running from June 15 to July 13, 2025.
