Penn State football head coach James Franklin and players suited up on Wednesday afternoon but did not take the field.
They visited with patients at Penn State’s Children’s Hospital in Hershey.
The Nittany Lions played games, colored and had an afternoon filled with fun.
Not only with Penn State’s Children’s Hospital patients, but also with kids from the Four Diamonds and Children’s Miracle Network.
One father said a day like Wednesday, surrounded by Penn State players, can be uplifting for everyone in attendance.
“When we received the news, it was very devastating and the support from our community back home and the support from Four Diamonds and the hospital has been overwhelming. It’s been very humbling for our family, as well. Just to get out of the house for a little bit and experience something new is a great night for us,” said Kyle Sprenkle, father of a Four Diamonds child.
