Alongside Spain, the world’s current powerhouse, and USWNT, the team to beat in every international competition, we have hosts France, Germany, and Brazil, 3 nations looking for triumph.
Also, Canada is out to defend its Olympic title while Australia will be hoping to build on the good results in the past few seasons. Zambia, Nigeria and Japan are also ready to compete as there’s no particular pressure on their backs.
The tournament kicks off on July 25 with the final set to be played on August 10 at Parc des Princes in Paris.

Australia was the first nation to announce its Olympic roster on June 4, following a friendly double-header against China. The Matildas will face the United States, Zambia, and Germany in the group stages.
Head coach Tony Gustavsson will be without star striker Sam Kerr and exciting young talent Amy Sayer due to devastating ACL injuries that both have sustained.

The Brazilian roster was announced on July 2.
Kerolin made the cut despite her not playing for the North Carolina Courage since October due to an ACL injury, while Manchester United’s Geyse and Kansas City Current’s Debinha were left out.
The Brazilian legend Marta announced earlier this year that 2024 would be her last with the national team and so this would be her final major tournament for the Seleção.
However, she has since made comments about the 2027 Women’s World Cup, to be hosted by Brazil, that suggest she could well continue for a while yet.

It is not an easy task especially following the shocking group stage elimination in the World Cup. They’re drawn alongside on France, Colombia, and New Zealand in the group stage.

Colombia will hope to reach Round 2 of the Olympics for the first time this summer when it takes on France, Canada, and New Zealand.
The South American nation has twice competed at the Games but failed to make it past the group stage.
Angelo Marsiglia has not yet named his roster for the tournament, but some top talent such as Real Madrid sensation Linda Caicedo and Chelsea star Mayra Ramirez are expected to feature.

The hosts have a great chance to do well, pooled with Canada, Colombia, and New Zealand in the group stage. The coach has named a 26-player roster and is expected to announce the final 18 players in the upcoming days.

The 2016 Olympic champion named its roster on July 3, with Sara Dabritz being the most remarkable absentee as she is recovering from an ankle injury.

Drawn into a group alongside Brazil, Nigeria, and Spain, Japan will be looking to repeat their silver medal success in the 2012 Olympics, and maybe even more.
Unsurprisingly, Jun Endo and Hikaru Naomoto did not make the list as they’re still injured while Portland’s Hina Sugita was not selected.
Japan’s Paris 2024 squad did not differ much from last summer’s World Cup squad.

With under 30 days to the start of the tournament, New Zealand’s squad is yet to be announced.
In a statement, New Zealand Football said that Head Coach Jitka Klimkova took a leave of absence “while an investigation is concluded into an employment related matter”.
As things stand now, it doesn’t look promising for The Football Ferns who will face Canada, Colombia, and hosts France in the group stage.

Entering the tournament as the heavy favorites to win Gold in Paris, the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions have a star-studded squad that includes two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas and one-time recipient Aitana Bonmati.
Following a provisional enlarged squad, Montserrat Tome named her full roster on July 3. Patri Guijarro is the biggest surprise as she’s made herself available for selection again while Leila Ouahabi and Jana Fernandez were cut.
