KARACHI: Pakistan U19 women’s team on Wednesday, kicked off their training camp here at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre for the upcoming ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to run from January 18 to February 2 in Malaysia.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the national squad partook in two practice sessions.
The players underwent fielding and running drills in the morning session, while they took part in batting and bowling sessions in the afternoon session.
The training camp is being supervised by head coach Mohsin Kamal while assistant coach Muhammad Hanif Malik and fielding coach Nahida Khan are working on the skills of the players.
After the completion of the camp, Pakistan team will depart for Malaysia on 10 January to feature in the 16-team world tournament.
The ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup will feature four groups, each consisting of four teams.
Pakistan is placed in Group B, alongside England, Ireland and the USA.
After the group stage, the top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six stage.
The Super Six will see teams carry forward their points, win and Net Run Rate (NRR) from their group matches.
The top two teams from each Super Six group will advance to the semi-finals on January 31.
The final will be played on February 2, 2025, at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
