The NFC North takes center stage on “Thursday Night Football” to kick off Week 14, showcasing two teams from what has undoubtedly been the most competitive division in the league in 2024.
The Packers (9-3) will head southeast to visit the Lions (11-1) in a matchup that could determine the division champion and owner of a first-round playoff bye, though the 10-2 Vikings remain in the hunt as well.
It’s hard to argue against the NFC North as the best division in football right now. With a combined 34-14 record through 13 weeks, even considering the Bears’ 4-8 mark, the NFC North is only rivaled by the AFC West. Home to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, that foursome is a combined 29-20 so far.

NFC East teams Philadelphia (10-2) and Washington (8-5) remain the only serious threats to Detroit, Green Bay and Minnesota for the top NFC postseason seed. The Vikings face their former starting QB Kirk Cousins and the Falcons Sunday, while the Eagles host the lowly Panthers and the Commanders take their bye.
That leaves the Packers and Lions as arguably the most exciting matchup of Week 14. Jordan Love & Co. look to gain one back on Detroit, which bested Green Bay on the road in Week 9. Dan Campbell and Jared Goff, on the other hand, are in the hunt to clinch a playoff spot with a win.

10:59 p.m. — Wow, the Lions get a clear shot at Love but he evades the pressure and hits Christian Watson for a first down on 2nd & 14. Watson is up to 114 yards.
10:52 p.m. — Tim Patrick hauls in his second touchdown of the night to put the Lions in front! Goff has three touchdowns, and this one gives Detroit the advantage with 8:39 remaining.

10:51 p.m. — Now St. Brown gets a block and goes for a first down…the Lions are seven yards from taking the lead.
10:50 p.m. — LaPorta’s impressive night continues with yet another first down catch. The Lions are in the red zone.
10:48 p.m. — No need for a fourth down decision here, as Goff finds St. Brown for 11 yards on 3rd & 2.
10:41 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Jacobs runs it in for his third touchdown of the night! Fantasy owners are thrilled, and so are the Packers. It’s 28-24, Green Bay.

10:37 p.m. — The Packers quickly pick up a first down and are in the red zone with a chance to take the lead. Meanwhile, Gibbs crossed the 1,000-yard threshold for the season, joining Jacobs, Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley.
10:35 p.m. — That fourth down decision didn’t work for Dan Campbell. Jahmyr Gibbs gets stuffed in the Lions’ own territory, and the Packers are set up well to at least tie the game. A crucial moment.

10:32 p.m. — The Lions bring the pressure and force a Love incompletion on third down, setting up a punt. That was a big moment for Detroit’s defense, which stops the bleeding and gives the ball back to the offense with the lead in hand again.
10:24 p.m. — Two 4th & Goal plays, two touchdowns! Ben Johnson dials up an open Tim Patrick, and Goff finds him for his second touchdown pass of the night. The Lions are back in front.

10:20 p.m. — Gibbs finally comes through with a big gain and sets up 1st & Goal for the Lions. It had been a quiet night for him before that run.
10:19 p.m. — Was there any doubt? Goff pushes forward for the first down right at midfield.
10:18 p.m. — Jameson Williams picks up seven yards on a 4th & 1, and it’s decision time for Dan Campbell.

9:42 p.m. — Jordan Love is just 3-of-7 for 31 yards through two quarters. The Packers will start the second half with the ball.
9:39 p.m. — Ben Johnson drew up the right play, as Jahmyr Gibbs easily beats the defense and catches the touchdown pass from Goff. The Lions look like they’ll go to halftime up 17-7, 30 minutes away from their 11th consecutive win.

9:15 p.m. — Jordan Love runs 14 yards into the red zone on 2nd & 12, and a five-yard penalty has the Packers set up as they look for their first points of the night.
9:09 p.m. — Josh Jacobs already surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the season tonight, and he’s starting to heat up with a 19-yard run that takes the Packers just past midfield.
9:05 p.m. FIELD GOAL — A first down by Sam LaPorta followed by an unnecessary roughness penalty are all the Lions get after the turnover, but it’s enough to turn it into three points and a two-possession lead. Lions ahead, 10-0.
9:00 p.m. FUMBLE — The Packers seemingly pick up the first down and much more on a catch by Christian Watson, but Carlton Davis knocks the ball loose and the Lions recover just before midfield. Green Bay’s offense continues to be a mess tonight, even with Detroit’s injuries.

8:53 p.m. — This time, Gibbs can’t get anywhere close to the marker and the Lions are forced to punt. Offenses have been quiet since that opening drive by Detroit. Can the Packers take advantage of all of those defensive injuries here?
8:51 p.m. — The Packers challenge the spot after Jahmyr Gibbs seemingly runs for a first down, but the call stands. Detroit keeps its drive alive.
8:43 p.m. — The Packers line up to go for it on 4th & 5, but they were just trying to draw the Lions offsides. Green Bay will punt again. For all the injuries, the Lions’ defense has shown up so far.
8:41 p.m. — Lions DT Alim McNeill is being evaluated for a concussion, potentially thinning an already thin defensive line for Detroit.
8:39 p.m. — This Lions drive goes by much more quickly than the first, as a sack by Rashan Gary forces a three-and-out.
8:35 p.m. — Love can’t connect downfield with Dontayvion Wicks, and Green Bay will punt. The Lions are bringing some real pressure early on despite their injuries.
8:32 p.m. — Brian Branch made a bit too much contact with Jayden Reed on second down, so the Packers will have a fresh set of downs despite the sack.
8:31 p.m. — Za’Darius Smith sacks Jordan Love on the Packers’ first offensive play of the night.
8:25 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — David Montgomery rumbles in for the touchdown! It’s his 12th of the year on the ground. The Lions take advantage of the penalty and draw first blood against the Packers.

8:23 p.m. — A holding call set the Lions back, but they’re back up to the 7-yard line on 3rd & Goal.
