Opelika football holds first practice on upgraded field under new coach – WTVM

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) – The Opelika Football team is brand new for the 2024-25 season. From a new head coach, to the new Jumbotron, there’s a lot to be excited about for Bulldog fans.
The team hit the field Thursday afternoon for their first practice with the new upgrades. The field itself has new turf and the stadium will be lit up with LED lights. Plus, the new Jumbotron will certainly add to fan experience.
Thursday’s practice was also a chance to see the team under its new head coach, Bryan Moore, who replaced Eric Speakman in December. He said it was a great day for everyone.
“It’s huge for us,” Moore said. “I’m gonna send investment for administration; our board; our community as a whole city; our mayor; city council. I mean everybody poured into this and our kids give them the best. You know that what Opelika is about. I was here the first time we put this in 2013, it was a blessing to redo it and upgrade 10 years later, and we’re just excited.”
Speaking of excitement, seeing the new team under the new lights will be a sight to see this upcoming football season.
