The Georgia native joins Deion Barnes’ defensive line
T. A. Cunningham joined Penn State in January as one of the team’s best recruits in the 2024 class. He played at four different high schools in three different states over his high school career. His sophomore season was arguably his most impressive, totaling 66 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, seven sacks, nine pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. Cunningham was a three-star recruit in the 2024 cycle.
While Cunningham has shown he can play both defensive end and defensive tackle, it will likely take some time for him to break into the rotation. Penn State has a wealth of talent and depth on the defensive line this season. I would not expect him to see a ton of playing time in 2024, but he will be a key piece of the future on Deion Barnes’ defensive line.
Only 97 more days until Penn State’s season opener against West Virginia!
