The beginning of the Oaktree era at Inter Milan will yield three major contract extensions, as Simone Inzaghi and Nicolo Barella will follow Lautaro Martinez.
According to all accounts, the Nerazzurri have secured an agreement with their club captain following back-and-forth talks.
The Argentine will earn a pay rise that would take his net salary up to 9 million euros. He will also collect 2M as bonuses per year.
The 26-year-old could become the first Nerazzurri star to sign a new contract under the Oaktree banner.
The American investment company has taken over the club following Sunning’s default last week. But its officials are already at work, collaborating with the club directors.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Oaktree era will continue to deliver the goods rather swiftly.
After Lautaro’s renewal, Inzaghi and Barella will also sign new deals.
The Italian duo have long had agreements in principle with the management. However, the Suning-Oaktree debacle delayed the signings.
Therefore, the Roman newspaper expects the coach and his star midfielder to put pen to paper in the coming days.
Inzaghi’s current deal is valid until 2025, but the new contract will push back the deadline to 2027. It will also see his net salary rise to 6.5 million euros per year.
The source notes that Inter directors Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have already met the coach’s agent Tullio Tinti to iron out the final details.
As for Barella, he will sign a new contract valid until 2029 with a net salary of 6.5 million.
The Sardinian midfielder has been a key pillar at the club since making the move from Cagliari in 2019.
