Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram has reportedly attracted interest from the Premier League. Reports have previously linked him with PSG.
The 26-year-old signed for the Nerazzurri last summer on a free transfer after seeing out his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.
This turned out to be one of the best coups of the year in Italy, if not Europe.
The striker swiftly assimilated into Simone Inzaghi’s tactical plans, forming a deadly partnership with club captain Lautaro Martinez.
Therefore, the Frenchman’s prowess earned him the esteem of some top suitors, and chief among them is Paris Saint Germain.
The Ligue 1 champions are searching the market for a new attacker, as Kylian Mbappé heads towards the exit door.
But according to Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews, PSG aren’t the only club to place Thuram on their shortlist.
The source claims that the 2022 World Cup finalist has some suitors amongst the top clubs in the Premier League.
However, the report doesn’t mention any specific names in this regard.
Mediaset also reminds us that the striker has a release clause worth 85 million euros in his contract. So if any other club places this figure on the table, Thuram would be free to leave Appiano Gentile.
As for Inter, this would constitute an astronomic capital gain, having signed the player for free only a year ago.
Nevertheless, it would leave them with the task of filling the void in attack by finding Martinez a new striking partner yet again.
In his first season in Italy, Thuram has thus far contributed with 14 goals and 13 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. This includes strikes in the two Derby della Madonnina editions.
The France international was dropped from the starting lineup against Sassuolo last weekend, but is expected to start tonight against Frosinone.
