As the World Cup approaches 2026, Brazilian star forward and Al-Hilal number 10, Neymar has made an emotional announcement about his international future ahead of the crucial AFC Champions League match against Al-Ain scheduled to take place at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on October 21, 2024, where he states that the next world cup is likely to be his last at the global platform.
“I know this will be my last World Cup, my last chance to shine, and I’m giving it all I have so that I am in it,” the 32-year-old told CNN in an interview that marks his first public reaction to the controversy. It’s more than a year since he last wore the Brazilian jersey, which raises more than a few eyebrows over his physical and technical state.

In the future, Neymar wished to meet some of his old teammates, especially Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the MLS. “That would be awesome to share the pitch with Messi and Suarez again,” he was quoted saying during an awards ceremony in Dubai as fans went on to celebrate over the possibility of reviving their trinity legend.
However, Brazil has been experiencing tough times in South American World Cup qualifying and its fans are waiting for the turnaround as the tournament approaches.
