HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Oahu’s soccer scene is growing – the problem is, the space in which to play the popular sport isn’t. With many teams and clubs competing for field time, any new inventory is welcome.
Back in October, a local Chaminade Graduate launched a dream in Kalihi Kai. Tucked behind Honolulu Cookie Company’s Sand Island Access Road facility is Urban Soccer Hawaii, what’s said to be Oahu’s first club neutral indoor soccer arena.
“Our mission is to foster a positive and inclusive environment where athletes of all ages can develop their soccer skills, build livelong relationships, and cultivate their passion for the beautiful game,
said Cody Kuge, owner of Urban Soccer Hawaii.
The space includes a parking lot, refs, pinnies, balls, cones, scoreboard, and even a TV for athlete’s use.
“Our facility has everything a team would need to bond for hours! Food and BBQ allowed outside the facility for potlucks and parents to gather and cheer on their players,” added Kuge.
Urban Soccer Hawaii is open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
