Nebraska football QB commit is ready to take next step as a leader – Husker Corner

There was a time, not long after TJ Lateef first committed to the Nebraska football team, that he might already be slipping through their fingers. However, after some confusion over comments about shutting down his recruitment, the 4-star quarterback has made it clear he’s Husker through and through.
Now it’s all about the next steps for Lateef as he learns and grows and gets ready for the next step. No longer needing to worry about where he’ll play, Lateef can now prep for how he’ll play. And what kind of player he wants to be.

Lateef recently sat down for a quick interview with College Football Analyst Adam Breneman. In that interview, he talked about why he committed to Nebraska football and what he wants to do with his game. What he wants to learn next. Including being a leader.
One of the first questions that Breneman asked Lateef was what his impressions of Husker head coach Matt Rhule was. It should surprise no one that the California quarterback is a fan, considering he’s planning on playing his college ball far away from home.
“He's a cool guy, somebody that I trust. That's the reason why I made that decision.”
He also explained that he chose Nebraska not because of the N on the helmet, but because he felt wanted and like he belonged.
And then the conversation turned to what TJ Lateef wants to improve in his game. It was here where the quarterback made comments that should make Cornhuskers fans happy.
“I'm just trying to really just learn how to lead,” he said. “Not that I didn't know how to lead, but just take it to the next level.”
As Lateef talks more and sheds more light on his personality, he looks more and more like a player that is going to have a positive impact on the Nebraska football program, once he’s officially a part of it.
