The Bahrain National Cricket Team is set to embark on a series of international tours in Uganda and Qatar as part of its journey towards World Cup qualification. The announcement was made at a high-profile event hosted by the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF), attended by prominent dignitaries and sponsors. Event Highlights BCF Chairman Advisory Board, Mohammed Mansoor, expressed gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for his support of cricket in Bahrain.
Mansoor highlighted the rigorous training the team is undergoing under Coach Aashish Kapoor, ex-Indian national player and coach of IPL’s Gujarat Titans, and expressed confidence in the team’s World Cup aspirations. Chief guest, H.E. A.K.M. Mohiuddin Kayes, Chargé d’Affaires of the Bangladesh Embassy, and guest of honor, Mr. Yusuf Yaqoob Lori, Director of Information and Follow-Up, Capital Governorate, encouraged further Bahraini participation in cricket. Sponsors such as Life N Style, ICICI, BFC, YK Almoyaed, STC, VMB, UFC Gym, Barakat Bespoke, Kailash Parvat and others were also present, along with members of the Bahrain National, Women, Emerging, and Youth teams.
Significance of the Tours The tour features a bilateral series in Uganda with two T20 Internationals and two one-day practice matches from October 26th to November 3rd. This will be followed by participation in the ICC CWC Challenge League B from November 5th to 16th, crucial for the one-day World Cup qualification, with matches against Uganda, Tanzania, Italy, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Next, Bahrain will compete in the ICC World Cup Asia Qualifier B in Qatar from November 18th to 28th as part of the T20 World Cup 2026 qualifiers facing Bhutan, Cambodia, Qatar, Saudi, Thailand & UAE .
In December, the team will participate in the Gulf Cup in Dubai, facing UAE, Qatar, and Oman, Saudi & Kuwait. Team Composition Led by Haider Ali, the team includes top players like Ahmer bin Nassir, Umer Imtiaz, and Junaid Niazi. The squad is supported by Head Coach Aashish, Manager Rexy, Assistant Coach Azeem ul Haque, and Physio Danny. With a current ICC T20 ranking of 26th, Bahrain is determined to make its mark on the global stage. President Sami Ali thanked all sponsors, and General Secretary Kishore Kewalram announced gifts to the winners of the cricket quiz.
