Mustangs Girls Soccer Advances to State – Raccoon Valley Radio

An exciting game saw the DCG Mustangs girl’s soccer squad persevere after a less-than-ideal start. With a couple of goals already things were looking up going into the break. However, a goal by Council Bluffs Jefferson would cut that lead in half giving the Yellow Jackets all the momentum at intermission.
That’s when the Mustangs really stepped it up and answered the bell. Three goals in the second half pushed the lead to 5-1 and excellent defense shut down the Council Bluffs Jefferson not allowing a single goal in 50 minutes of play.
The Mustangs will be moving on to the state quarterfinals in Des Moines on Tuesday night, with Xavier waiting in the wings.
