One final Monday Night Football doubleheader concludes Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season. There are two Monday Night Football games scheduled tonight, with the Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears on ABC and streaming on ESPN+ (sign up offer), and the Las Vegas Raiders vs Atlanta Falcons on ESPN.
Both matchups have varying levels of interest, with the Vikings in pursuit of the Detroit Lions for the NFC North Division lead and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. The Lions hold a half-game lead and own the tiebreaker having defeated the Vikings on the road in Week 7, 31-29, on a last-second field goal.
The Vikings visit the Lions in Week 18 to close the regular season. The non-division winner can’t be any better than the No. 5 seed and would face a much tougher playoff path on the road.
The Bears have lost seven in a row, and play their second game with interim coach Thomas Brown taking over for the fired Matt Eberflus.
Kicking off 30 minutes later is the sinking Falcons against the league-worst Raiders losers of nine in a row. Atlanta has been let down by quarterback Kirk Cousins (six interceptions combined the past two games) and has lost four straight. Yet it is just one loss back of Tampa Bay in the NFC South and a wild-card home game. The Falcons swept the Bucs this season and own the tiebreaker.
Cousins won’t have to deal with Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby, who is out for the season now with an ankle injury.
