The head coach of Moeller’s varsity soccer team is stepping down from his role.
The high school says that Mike Welker elevated the Crusaders soccer program over the last nine years.
Under Welker, the team logged 134 wins, 30 losses, and 25 ties overall.
That record is the best winning percentage in Moeller history.
“It has been a tremendous honor to be part of the Moeller soccer program for the last 14 years,” Welker said in a statement “I am grateful to Coach Hurley for giving me the opportunity to be a junior varsity coach for five years, prior to taking over the varsity program. Moeller Soccer will always have a special place in my heart, and my family and I will continue to be the program’s number one fans.”
Moeller High School Athletic Director Jonathan Hayes said Welker’s influence and achievements will “remain an enduring part of the school’s storied history.”
