The text remained positive despite the heart-breaking news that Florida State received on Selection Sunday.

If you read this text without any prior context, you might think it’s filled with clichés and positive one-liners.
And to be quite honest with you, it is.
However, if you follow FSU football consistently or have attended just one practice under the direction of Mike Norvell, you would know that he goes about his business based on those principles. They are not just “words to live by,” they are words acted upon.

At the end of the stretch period, he is seen racing his players to the other side of the field. Norvell is always sprinting between the Indoor Practice Facility and the lone outside field due to construction. He is constantly keeping people in the program (and members of the media) on their toes with his “Good morning!” salutation no matter the time of the day.
This is who Norvell is and how he operates. When it seemed like there was no possible thing he could say to his players who just had their hearts ripped out, Mike Norvell kept the same mentality.
