Official visits are underway in Ann Arbor and the Wolverines are looking to add to their 2025 recruiting class.
The Michigan Wolverines have the 15th-best recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports. In May, four-star offensive lineman Avery Gach announced his commitment. A month prior, four-star Nate Marshall, one of the top defensive linemen in the country, also committed to the Wolverines.
This brought a lot of momentum to the program this spring, but now we’re entering the summer months. This weekend, the players on official visits could help bolster Michigan’s next recruiting class and continue the spring recruiting momentum.
Here’s who the Wolverines have on their visitors list for the first weekend of June.
Michigan fans will be happy to see a highly regarded wide receiver on the list for the weekend. Derek Meadows is 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, from Las Vegas. Some experts predict he’ll end up at Notre Dame, but I wouldn’t be surprised if receivers coach Ron Bellamy focuses on the fact that Michigan just had two receivers drafted in April.
Looking at some of his highlights, it’s easy to see why the Wolverines want to see him in the winged helmet.
The Wolverines have had their eyes on Utu for a while, offering back in May 2022. He’s a four-star offensive lineman, weighing 300 pounds and measuring 6-foot-5. Utu was in Ann Arbor for the Spring Game in April and is back for an official visit this weekend.

DJ Sanders is a 6-foot-4 defensive lineman from Bellville, Texas. He’s one of the top players at his position in the state.

The Wolverines offered Sanders at the end of January. New defensive line coach Lou Esposito is known for his recruiting and ability to develop NFL talent. Sanders is looking at schools in his home state, like Texas and Texas A&M, but if Esposito can get Sanders to commit, that would be a huge win for his first year in Ann Arbor.
Kainoa Winston is a four-star safety, listed at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds. He locked in his official visit to Ann Arbor back in April. He’s the top player from the DC area. On Thursday, he announced he’s down to four schools and Michigan made the cut.

Winston also has official visits planned for Oregon, Penn State and North Carolina. Winston might not be the tallest guy, but he’s got a lot of speed and is known to jump a route or two to make a big play.
Marco Jones is another defensive guy on the list this weekend. Jones is the No. 1 defensive recruit out of California. Here’s another chance for Esposito’s reputation as a recruiter to shine. He’s got Michigan in his top-10, along with schools like Alabama, Oregon, Penn State, and Texas. He’s heading back to Ann Arbor after a trip to Michigan for the Spring Game in April.
