Michigan football adds several new recruiting analysts – 247Sports

Michigan football has added several new recruiting analysts, fortifying that department early in Sherrone Moore’s tenure with the Wolverines.
Five people — Jacob Weber, Jacob Sakk, Preston Sagan, Jack Turner and Aidan Young — all shared on social media Sunday that they have joined U-M from other programs. In addition, former Michigan recruiting interns Reid Kuhl and Richard Perry announced that they too had earned promotions to recruiting analyst.
“Blessed and excited to have accepted a position at the University of Michigan as a Recruiting Analyst. Thank you to everyone who’s helped and supported me along the way! Can’t wait to get to work!” Weber wrote.
Wrote Sakk: “Beyond excited to announce I’ve accepted a position as a Recruiting Analyst for the University of Michigan! Wouldn’t be in this position without some amazing people around me. Lets get to work!”
Weber attended Indiana University, where he was a recruiting intern in 2021-22. He most recently worked as a football recruiting assistant at Western Michigan. Sakk began as a recruiting assistant at Duquesne University before taking that same role at Pittsburgh earlier this year. Sagan has a background with Clemson, Turner was previously at Wake Forest and Davidson, and Young was at Oregon.
Kuhl, meanwhile, spent the previous three years as an intern with the Wolverines while obtaining his degree from the university. Perry interned for both Michigan State and Michigan.
Recruiting has “changed” in the modern era, as Sherrone Moore said during his introductory press conference, when he promised to be aggressive.
“It’s changed tremendously. But going to be extremely aggressive with it,” he said then. “Gonna attack it just like I attacked it when I was a primary recruiter, the same way we’re attacking a scheme, going to do it the same way. The same attitude, relentlessly. So we make sure that we keep our great players here, and we bring in great players in this program.”
The Wolverines landed four-star DL Nate Marshall, their first commit of Sherrone Moore era, in late April.
“Obviously the talent is off the charts,” Fenwick head coach Matthew Battaglia told 247Sports of Marshall. “Unfortunately for me, I will probably never coach a player this talented again. He’s an extreme competitor. A lot of that comes from a great athletic background with his family. Mom (Khara Smith) being a Hall of Fame basketball player, grandfather (Ken Norman) is a Hall of Fame basketball player who played at Illinois and in the NBA. He has a tremendous competitive background from his parents and the lessons they learned competing at the highest levels are ingrained in him.”
