MDI's Spencer Laurendeau signs with Nichols football – WABI

BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) – MDI fans got to watch Spencer Laurendeau help the Trojans win the 2023 8 Man Large School State Championship, 28-0 over Greely, after avenging a regular season loss to Camden Hills, 26-6, in the North title game.
Now, he’s on his way to his “last hurrah” of football with the Nichols Bison of the Commonwealth Coast Conference, the same league as the Husson Eagles.
He thanked Trojan Nation for helping him grow as a player and person.
“I just want to say thank you to this community for backing me up all through my four years here and all through middle school. They really helped me push myself and get better. To Coach Shields and my whole coaching staff, I really want to say thank you to them. They really pushed me to be a better me and a better player. My teammates, obviously, I wouldn’t be here without them. They made me work harder in practice if I was slacking off. They knew I had to get better because they knew I wanted to get to where I’m at now, so thank you to all of them,” said Laurendeau.
The Bar Harbor native plans on studying sports marketing and content creation while playing safety to eventually work for a sports team.
He added that the Dudley, Mass. campus felt like home and the coaching staff felt like a family when he visited during a Prospect Camp in August.
