The start of the college football season is right around the corner, close enough for Southeastern Conference teams to have an idea of when their games will kick off.
ESPN revealed approximate kickoff times Tuesday for the bulk of the upcoming SEC slate of games. This year, under its new broadcast rights deal with the conference, ESPN will first sort games into four time windows — early, afternoon, night and flex — then set specific kickoff times later.
The early window is 11 a.m.-noon, the afternoon window is 2:30-3:30 p.m., and the night window is 5-7 p.m.
In 2024, LSU will play one game (Sept 14. at South Carolina) in the early window and at least six in the night window. The other five are “flex” games, contests that ESPN can place in either the afternoon or night windows no later than six days before kickoff.
In the night window, the Tigers will play their Oct. 12 home game against Ole Miss, their Oct. 19 road game against Arkansas and their Nov. 23 home game against Vanderbilt. That list does not include three of the four LSU games that already have exact kickoff times: the Sept. 1 season opener against Southern California in Las Vegas (6:30 p.m.), the Sept. 7 home game against Nicholls State (6:30 p.m.) and the Sept. 28 home game against South Alabama (6:45 p.m.).
LSU’s flex games are Sept. 21 versus UCLA, Oct. 26 at Texas A&M, Nov. 9 versus Alabama, Nov. 16 at Florida and Nov. 30 versus Oklahoma.
This season will be the first in which all SEC games will appear on either an ESPN network or ABC.

Sept. 7 Nicholls State 6:30 p.m. ESPN+
