Louisville football, with season slipping away, mounts furious comeback vs Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Louisville football and Boston College are both in need of wins.
The Cardinals have dropped two of their last three games, and the Eagles have lost back-to-back games heading into tonight’s ACC game.
U of L is 3-5 at Boston College and lost its last game at Alumni Stadium, 34-33, two years ago. Louisville has struggled in close games this season, with each loss by seven points.
Nate Kurisky caught his second touchdown of the night on a 6-yard reception from Tyler Shough, giving the Cardinals their first lead of the night. Kurisky entered the without a touchdown pass this season.
Isaac Brown finds a hole and scores on an 18-yard run to narrow the Eagles’ lead.
Tyler Shough throws a 4-yard touchdown pass to Nate Kurisky. The score comes after BC’s fumble return was overruled with Duke Watson being ruled down after a 2-yard run.
Thomas Castellanos has his third touchdown pass of the night on a 6-yard pass to Jeremiah Franklin, who was wide open in the back of the end zone.
The Cardinals’ offense stalled in the red zone but Brock Travelstead’s 23-yard field goal gives them three points to start the half.
Isaac Brown scores the Cards’ first touchdown on a 4-yard run to spoil the Eagles’ first-half shutout bid, ending the 10-play, 76-yard drive. Ja’Corey Brooks was instrumental in the series with 54 yards on four catches.
Kye Robichaux runs in the 4-yard TD, but BC misses the PAT. The Eagles have now cashed in on both of the Cards’ turnovers, adding to their shutout.
Thomas Castellanos throws a 4-yard TD to Treshaun Ward to increase the Eagles’ lead. Both scores have come on fourth down with the last being assisted by an offsides penalty on Louisville.
On fourth and 1, Thomas Castellanos throws a 54-yard touchdown to an open Kamari Morales. The four-play drive came after Quintayvious Hutchins’ interception.
Louisville vs. Boston College will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2. Anish Shroff and Andre Ware will call the game from the booth at Alumni Stadium, with Paul Carcaterra reporting from the sideline.
Louisville 35, Boston College 21. The Cardinals have had no trouble scoring points and will continue to do so. Defensively, they’ll be able to limit the Eagles’ scoring enough to pick up a much-needed ACC road win.
