Pinckney senior receiver Nolan Carruthers is the first Livingston County football player to earn all-region three times in the five years that a team has been selected by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association.
Carruthers set county records with 185 receptions and 2,364 receiving yards during his three-year career. His 22 touchdown catches rank second to Caleb Wardlow’s 25 for Pinckney from 2019-21.
He had a school-record 203-yard performance in his final game, a 24-20 first-round playoff loss at Chelsea.
Carruthers is one of 14 from the county who made the all-region team.
Brighton and Howell each had five selections, while Pinckney had four.

Brian Lewis of Howell and Brent Sandee of Hudsonville were chosen Region 1 Coaches of the Year.
Other Division 1, Region 3 selections for Brighton were offensive lineman Brayden Stimmel and quarterback Lawrence Wells. Brighton was in a region with teams from Oakland County, as well as other top teams like Saline, Davison and Grand Blanc.
Pinckney junior running back Henry Taube is the only all-region pick from the county who isn’t a senior. Offensive lineman Travis Budnik is the Pirates’ other pick in Division 4, Region 4, which covers southeast Michigan.
