Nick Codutti has been named the next head coach at Klein High School.
After quickly building a strong football program at Lamar Consolidated ISD’s Fulshear High School, coach Nick Codutti is leaving the Chargers for a new challenge.
Codutti has been selected as the next head coach at Klein, the school announced Monday morning. He takes over for longtime Bearkats coach Shane Hallmark, who announced his retirement after leading the program for 15 seasons and taking his teams to the playoffs six times. The Bearkats finished 6-4 this past season and are still looking for their first playoff appearance since 2018.
Codutti took over as the head coach at Fulshear in 2021. He has taken the Chargers to the playoffs in all four seasons, including in 2024 during the school’s first year in Class 6A. He has guided Fulshear to three consecutive district championships and a 39-10 record. The Chargers finished 12-1 this past season, falling to Atascocita in a close game in the third round of the 6A Division I playoffs.

Codutti was named to the 40 Under 40 coaches list by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football in 2021, and he’s lived up to that honor as he’s built the Fulshear program into a consistent winner. Before taking over with the Chargers, he spent time as the offensive coordinator at both Tomball and Beaumont West Brook. The Philadelphia native was also the head coach in Marshfield, Mo., before coming to Texas.
