Klaassen included in Netherlands T20 World Cup squad – Kent Cricket

Monday 13th May 2024
Men’s First Team
Left-arm seamer Fred Klaassen has been named in the Netherlands’ 15-strong squad for the ICC T20 World Cup, which takes place in North America this June.
The 31-year-old has 39 caps for his country so far in International T20 cricket, with 43 wickets and at average of 23.44.
An unmissable evening of International T20 cricket is coming to Canterbury in the Summer of 2024, and tickets are now on sale to see England’s heroes take on the White Ferns of New Zealand in Canterbury, just an hour’s journey from the capital.
Tickets for England Women vs. New Zealand are now on sale – be there to witness England in T20 action:
England Women vs. New Zealand at The Spitfire Ground in July is not included in 2024 Memberships or Six Pack ticket bundles. Members, Six Pack & Six Pack Plus holders should purchase tickets from the Club website.
Klaassen’s involvement in the biggest tournament in T20 cricket means that he will miss the first eight matches of Kent Spitfires’ T20 campaign.
Charlie Stobo has now arrived in Canterbury ahead of his overseas stint as a Kent cricketer until 16 September, with Australia’s Xavier Bartlett contracted for the Spitfires in Kent’s first eight Vitality Blast matches of the Summer after winning the KFC Big Bash League with Brisbane Heat this Winter, and his compatriot Wes Agar also available for Kent for the group stage of England’s domestic T20 tournament.
Current SA20 champion Beyers Swanepoel is also in Kent Spitfires’ T20 squad for the entirety of the Summer, with the fast-bowling all-rounder under contract for all formats.
ECB Playing Regulations allow for Counties to have four overseas players registered at any one point, with two permitted in a Playing XI. Both Stobo & Swanepoel will therefore be eligible to play for the Kent Spitfires in the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup, as well as any potential knockout matches in any format.
Leg-spinner Matt Parkinson, who has played International T20 cricket for England, is also set to make his Kent Spitfires T20 debut during the Vitality Blast.
Scramble your squadron for a choice of Friday night socials this June & July and enjoy discounts on tickets for groups of six or more!
