Junior Starlets step up preps for World Cup Qualifiers – People Daily

Kenya Women’s U17 National Team, the Junior Starlets, embarked on their third day of residential training, as anticipation builds for their crucial FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.
Scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2024, in Ethiopia, followed by the return leg on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at home, these two legs mark a pivotal moment in the Junior Starlets’ journey.

Junior Starlets Coach Mildred Cheche expressed confidence in her team’s readiness, citing their experience competing at the highest local level.

“I think we are prepared because most of our players have been competing at the highest level locally so hopefully they’ll rise up to the task ahead, so I am hopeful we have a great team that is going to play well,” Cheche revealed.
With all players reporting to camp, the squad stands united and prepared for the challenge ahead.

Departing for Ethiopia on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Junior Starlets carry with them the hopes of a nation, aiming to secure their spot in the fourth and final round, with eyes set on the ultimate prize—an automatic qualification to the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
