KARACHI: Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association has announced its team which will take part in the Over 50s World Cup to be held in Colombo from February 9 to 23, 2025.
Fourteen countries are participating in the World Cup. All matches will be of 45 overs each innings. Teams are divided into two groups of seven each. Pakistan are at the moment top ranked in the world with the highest win/loss percentage, having lost only 2 matches in the last four over 50s World Cup.
Ejaz Fakih, former Test player and Chairman of Selection Committee of PVCA, along with members Amer Ilyas Butt, Alamgir Ahmed and Najeeb Sadiq announced the seventeen-member team.
Junaid Nainitalwala is the captain and Mohsin Aftab Qarshi is vice captain. Pakistan team includes nine players who represented Pakistan in last Over 50s World Cup held in Cape Town in 2023. Medicam Group is the main sponsor of Pakistan over 50s Team.
