#BREAKING While Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was playing Monday Night Football, I have confirmed police were called to his Cincinnati area home for a report of a break-in. A woman called 911 and said…. @wlwt
One 911 caller said her daughter was staying at the home.
“Someone is trying to break into the house right now. My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should go outside,” the caller said. “She said someone was in the house.”
That woman’s daughter then called 911.
“Someone broke into my house,” she said. “It’s like completely messed up.”
You can listen to the 911 calls in the video player above.
The woman can also be heard talking to a man in the house, who a dispatcher confirmed was working security at the house.
According to the incident report, the 22-year-old woman, who said she’s employed by Burrow, told deputies that when she arrived at the residence, she observed a shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked.
According to the report, deputies said that Burrow was out of town and couldn’t provide any details as to what was taken from the home but the woman who called 911 was able to give a non-detailed itemization of what items were possibly missing.
Radio traffic from that night indicates there was an officer on detail at his house that night.
The sheriffs department’s criminal investigative unit is investigation the incident.
This comes after the NFL issued a security alert to teams and the players’ union following recent burglaries involving the homes of Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
In a memo obtained by The Associated Press, the league says homes of professional athletes across multiple sports have become “increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups.”
At this moment, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department can’t say if detectives think this could be connected to any of the other NFL break-ins.
