STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) – For the second time in 14 days, a Georgia Southern football player has been removed from the roster. Isaac Walker spent four years with the Eagles, but as of Sunday, Walker is no longer on the team. The news was first reported by Josh Aubrey of the Statesboro Herald.
Walker, a defensive lineman, was in his redshirt junior season in Statesboro. In 28 games played, Walker accumulated 59 total tackles, including 12 in 2024. His most productive season was 2023 when Walker forced five fumbles and had six sacks. He had one interception in 2022.
He becomes the second Georgia Southern player to leave the program in as many weeks. The news of backup quarterback Dexter Williams II’s transfer broke on November 6th, just 12 days ago.
Georgia Southern (6-4, 4-2) heads into the penultimate week of their regular season. They travel to Conway, SC to play Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
