The NFL regular season is officially over, which means it’s time for the 2025 playoffs.
But is there a “Thursday Night Football” game this week?
Here’s what to know about this year’s playoff schedule and whether there will be a game on Thursday night.
There will not be a “Thursday Night Football” game during the NFL playoffs.
The 2024 “Thursday Night Football” schedule ran through Week 17. The final broadcast was Dec. 26 between the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears.
Another NFL game will not be played on Thursday until the 2025 regular-season opener in September.
The NFL playoffs kick off Jan. 11 with the league’s Super Wild Card Weekend before concluding Feb. 9 with Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.

The Cincinnati Bengals’ season is officially over and the team did not qualify for the NFL playoffs after ending the season 9-8.
The Bengals needed the Chiefs to beat the Denver Broncos in Week 18 to clinch the No. 7 seed in the AFC. However, the Chiefs, who already clinched the conference’s No. 1 seed, sat starters including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and others. Denver won 38-0 to earn the AFC’s final playoff spot.
The Bengals’ last game of the regular season was Jan. 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals won 19-17.
