A Canadian group called Socceroof has taken an underground space at Fosun Plaza at 28 Liberty on sub level one, just above the Alamo movie theater. This is its fourth location in the city; they also have two in Montreal and one in New Rochelle.
They applied for a liquor license from Community Board 1 — they have a little cafe/bar area for two purposes: parents who are stuck there watching their kids play, and adults, who like to gather ether before or after league games.
The space here will be 20,000 square feet, and if it’s like their other spots, there will be league play, classes, birthday parties, camps and field rentals. They will be open from 10a to midnight.
