Indiana Football: Some of the most notable NFL Draft Picks in school history. – Hoosier State of Mind

Indiana Football has had players drafted since inception of the NFL Draft. Who are some of the more notable players the Hoosiers have produced.
When people think of Indiana University, football is not usually their first thought. The Hoosiers, however, have had players drafted since their inception in 1936. Ettore Antonini was the first player drafted from Indiana. Several former Hoosiers have made their impact in the league. There are two Super Bowl Champions, including one who famously intercepted Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl.
Here's a look at some of the more notable Indiana football players drafted.
Corbett Davis is the first and only number one overall pick in school history. Ironically, that isn't the highlight of his life. Davis left the Cleveland Rams to serve in World War II. He was a rifleman in the Second Infantry Division in France. Davis served in England after being wounded in action. After the War he was an official with the Big Ten.
Eight years passed until Indiana had another first-round pick. The New York Giants selected Billy Hillenbrand sixth overall in 1944. Hillenbrand was a Consensus All-American before getting drafted. Like Corbett Davis, Hillenbrand served in World War II. When his service was over, he played three seasons in the old AAFC when his service was over.
