India lost 1-2 to Afghanistan in their last qualifier match in March which was played in Guwahati.
The Indian football team will assemble on 10 May for the second round of FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers matches against Kuwait and Qatar and will have a four-week preparatory camp in Bhubaneswar. The match against Kuwait will be played on 6 June at the Salt Lake Stadium while the Qatar game will be played away from home on 11 June.
The Sunil Chhetri-led Indian football team will arrive in Kolkata on 2 June for the Kuwait game.
“India Sr men’s national team will have a 4-week preparatory camp in Bhubaneswar, Odisha starting 10 May, 2024,” the All India Football Federation (AIFF) tweeted on Wednesday.
“The final squad will move to Kolkata on 2 June, ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Kuwait!” it added.

India lost 1-2 to Afghanistan in their last qualifier match in March which was played in Guwahati. Despite the disappointing defeat, the Igor Stimac-coached team is still in contention for reaching the third round of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The Blue Tigers are currently second in their group with four points from four matches. They lead third-placed Afghanistan on goal difference.
The top two teams at the end of the Round 2 will progress to the third round.
India have never qualified for Round 3 of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
