Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 points table: Here are the standings for Group A and Group B after the India vs Australia match on Sunday.
Sutherland with the ball. A single off the first ball as Pooja takes strike. OUT! Sutherland sends Pooja back as the batter tries to swing a full toss but misses. Reddy leaves the pitch as soon as she comes in as she is run out. However, Harmanpreet takes the strike. The batters take a single as Shreyanka takes the strike. Can she hit two sixes? Sutherland bowls a wide but confusion at the crease results in Shreyanka’s wicket as she is stumped out. OUT! Radha’s first ball ends up being her last at the crease as Sutherland traps her before the wicket. That’s all from this match as Australia wins by nine runs.
Molineux with the ball. Oops! Mis-field from the fielder as the batters take two runs. FOUR! Pooja with a much-needed boundary. FOUR! Harmanpreet catches a thick edge and the ball races third man for a boundary. Half-century up for the Indian skipper. A run to keep strike as India needs 14 off the last over.
Gardner with the ball. FOUR as Harmanpreet hits it over extra covers for a boundary. Another FOUR as the skipper cuts it towards deep extra cover. 12 runs from the over.
Schutt with her last over. OUT! Litchfield on target as she runs out Richa. Pooja Vastrakar comes on at the crease. Risky run on the last ball but Harmanpreet keeps strike. Just the one run from the over.
Molineux with the ball. FOUR! Harmanpreet hits it through extra cover for a boundary. Inventive from Deepti as she hits a FOUR! OUT! Deepti goes big again but gets caught out at deep mid wicket by Wareham.
Wareham continues. Skipper Harmanpreet tries to find the ropes but not enough distance. NO BALL. Can Harmanpreet take advantage of that? Not really, but Deepti hits it over fine leg for a FOUR!
Gardner with her third over. Singles in the over so far. A FOUR! A boundary after some time for India.
Sutherland back with her third. Great stop from Perry in the deep as Harmanpreet’s volley almost found the boundary. Pressure mounting on the batters as another thumping shot off the skipper’s bat is stopped inside the circle.
Wareham for her second over. Deepti pulls a full stop towards deep square leg, but just for a single. DROPPED! Harmanpreet sweeps but doesn’t get the distance. Running forward, Brown fails to complete the catch deep at square leg. A single to end the over as the Indian skipper keeps the strike.

Sutherland for her second over. Six singles off the over. Deepti cuts the last delivery and gets a top edge. Molineux dives to try and catch it with her right hand but fails to. Will go down as a chance.
Georgia Wareham to Deepti. A full toss, Deepti pulls for just a single. Harma npreet drives to long off for another run. FOUR! A streaky boundary, Deepti tries a sweep, but gets a top edge. It is fine enough to beat the short third fielder to the fence. A single to deep mid wicket next. A wide from Wareham. Deepti has to dive to complete a single on the final delivery.
Schutt to Jemimah. FOUR! A short-pitched delivery from the bowler but Jemimah is ready to pull it away. She sweeps the next to fine leg. Harmanpreet paddles the next down leg for another single. OUT! Jemimah picks the fielder in the deep square leg position with her pull. Another wicket for Australia.
Jemimah Rodrigues c Gardner b Schutt 16 (12)
Deepti Sharma is the new batter. She works her first delivery to cow corner for one run.
Sophie Molineux to Smriti Mandhana, shouts for lbw. This one looks plumb. Australia goes for another review. Mandhana is gone if there’s no bat involved. There is indeed no bat and India loses its second wicket.
Smriti Mandhana lbw b Molineux 6 (12)
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur in now. A quick single to mid wicket to get off the mark. Jemimah tries to pull, gets a top edge but the ball lands short of deep mid wicket, one run.
Annabel Sutherland to Jemimah, a leg bye to fine leg but Australia has gone up for a DRS. The impact was outside off and Australia loses its referral. Mandhana drives the third to deep cover for one run. FOUR! Jemimah steps out and chips it back over the bowler’s head. FOUR more! This one is fuller and hence Jemimah has to stand still and go down the ground.
Mandhana gets a single to cover. OUT! Gardner removes Shafali. The fielder is stationed at long on for the aerial slog, and Shafali picks the very fielder.
Shafali Verma c Sutherland b Gardner 20 (13)

Litchfield was given leg-before-wicket after she missed a reverse sweep but a decision to review the on-field call saw the decision overturned.
Shreyanka to bowl the final over. FOUR! Sutherland hits and over short mid off for a boundary. OUT! Next ball, the batter tries to go down the crease and go big but misses as the ball clatters into the stumps. Another WICKET! Molineux thinks that Jemimah catches her out, but the Indian spills the ball. However, Shreyanka runs Molineux out at the non-striker’s end. Deepti with the ball and she is hit for a FOUR right at the off by Phoebe Litchfield down the ground. NOT OUT! Litchfield was caught before wicket but a review showed the ball pitching outside leg. However, the batter had gone for a switch-hit, which prompted the Indian players telling the on-field umpire the same. Litchfield stays on. FOUR! Perry goes on her backfoot and finds the boundary towards the cow corner. Pooja seemed to have given up on that occasion there.
Shreyanka with the ball. A couple of singles so far. Perry swings her bat and sends the ball towards deep square leg as the batters take two runs. FOUR! Perry pulls it for a boundary as the ball races towards deep square leg. SIX! Perry ends the over with a huge maximum between deep mid-wicket and square leg.
Pooja returns. FOUR! Gardner goes straight and finds the boundary towards long on. 100 up for Australia. Review says NOT OUT as Gardner stays on at the crease. India thought that there was a sound there when she swung the bat and the ball was caught by Richa behind the stumps. India loses all its reviews. OUT! Next ball, Gardner pulls a short-pitched ball but an edge sees it fall kindly for Radha Yadav.
OUT! Huge wicket for India as Deepti Sharma sends Grace Harris back! The batter hits it towards short mid wicket but Smriti Mandhana is there to take the catch. Ashleigh Gardner the newest batter at the crease. A wicket and just four runs from the over.
Arundhati returns. FOUR! Shouts of ‘catch it’ are vain as Harris hits it down the ground for a boundary. Harris ends the over with another FOUR as she turns and twists to send the ball, going outside leg, towards deep backward square leg.
Radha Yadav brought in to bowl. She is instantly welcomed by the Australian skipper with a FOUR. DROPPED! McGrath is dropped by skipper Harmanpreet at short mid off. OUT! McGrath goes down the crease for the big one but catches air. Richa Ghosh stumps her out with ease. The skipper goes off for a well-made 32.
Renuka with the ball. Close! McGrath is almost caught out in the deep but the shot falls just short of Pooja Vastrakar. The batters run between the sticks to notch up six runs. But more drama ensues as Harmanpreet has gone upstairs for a lbw check on the McGrath. The skipper will remain at the crease for a bit more at least, as the review shows the ball missing the wickets.
Deepti Sharma into the attack. Harris sweeps the first delivery to deep mid wicket, one run. A single through the on side for McGrath. Harris punches the fourth to mid on for another single. BEATEN! McGrath tries to reverse sweep but misses. Two runs on the final delivery.
Arundhati to McGrath, two runs through mid wicket. She cuts the next to sweeper cover for a single. Shelled! Harris hits straight to Deepti Sharma at point who cannot grab the chance. FOUR! McGrath clears mid off.
Vastrakar for her second over. India appeals for a leg before as Harris is struck on the back foot. The height is an issue and Harmanpreet decides against a review. FOUR! McGrath steps out and creams this through covers. Vastrakar follows it up with a bouncer. A single to extra cover on the next delivery. FOUR more! Harris shuffles across and ramps this past the keeper.
Arundhati Reddy for the first time today. On the pads to start off and Harris picks a single to deep backward square. A leg bye for McGrath. A quick single for Harris through mid off. McGrath pushes to long on and adds a run. Harris cuts to deep point and makes it five runs from the over.

Renuka again. Starts with a wide. A single to deep mid wicket for Harris. McGrath tucks away the third delivery through mid wicket for a single. A bye on the next ball. McGrath drives the fifth but a diving save from Jemimah keeps it to just one run. Another leg bye to fine leg. Six runs from the over.

Beth Mooney c Radha b Renuka Singh 2 (7)
Another one! Georgia Wareham is given leg before. Two in two for Renuka. A sharp nip backer is too good for Wareham.
Georgia Wareham lbw Renuka 0(1)
Tahlia McGrath survives the hat-trick ball. She gets a leg bye to fine leg.
Shreyanka Patil to bowl the second. Mooney on strike. Shouts for lbw, but the ball had pitched outside leg. Mooney sweeps the third to fine leg, no run. She flicks the fourth to deep mid wicket for a single. Harris picks a single to deep square leg.
