Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is known for creating some of the classic romantic movies of all time. His films, including Jab We Met, Rockstar, Cocktail and Highway, have been etched in a special place in millions of hearts. Among all, his film Tamasha is till date widely enjoyed by viewers around the globe. The film, which starred Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles, was released on November 27, 2015. As the film marked its ninth year, the director has now reposted an unmissable throwback picture.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Imtiaz Ali reported a throwback photo featuring him in a fun-filled session on the Tamasha sets. We can also spot Ranbir Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali’s daughter, Ida Ali and Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, among others, in the photo. Atop it, the filmmaker wrote that the snap was from the time when he enjoyed the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals on the streets of Corsica.
Unfortunately, they also witnessed Argentina’s defeat in the final match. Now, as his film Tamasha marked nine years, he penned, “Nine years of Tamasha and 10 years of this Argentinian defeat in the World Cup finals!! And now @aaliyahkashyap is getting married!!!! World Cup finals on the streets of Corsica!!! @idaali11."
Following this, Imtiaz Ali also reposted a video on his Instagram stories, a mashup of various lovely moments from the film. A fan page of Ranbir Kapoor reposted the clip. Sharing it, the filmmaker tagged a photographer named Yamini, aka ‘the filmy soul’. In another story, Yamini wrote a long, heartfelt note that can be read as, “It’s been 9 years of Tamasha. A masterpiece that the world didn’t just need but one that it cherishes deeply. Every year, we celebrate your movies but for me, it’s also a celebration of you, Imtiaz sir AI your vision, your storytelling, your unparalleled ability to touch souls through cinema."
She added, “This world would be so much duller, so much emptier, without you and the beauty you bring to it. Thank you for existing, for daring to create art that challenges, heals, and inspires. Thank you for giving us stories that linger in our hearts forever. Here’s to you, your timeless artistry, and to the magic you continue to gift the world."
Not only this, in the next slide, the filmmaker reshared singer Himani Kapoor’s IG story. She had shared a photo of Imtiaz Ali superimposed on Tamasha’s poster and wished the film a “happy birthday". Himani even mentioned that the film is “the game changer of her life."
Imtiaz Ali also posted glimpses of a Tamasha Day on his Instagram story. Sharing a photo, he wrote, “Thanks @single.handedly for a wonderful Tamasha day!!!" In another picture posted by Roshan Abbas, the caption read, “Stealing this but only to wish @single.handedly on his success and @imtiazaliofficial on inspiring generations!! Couldn’t make it due to a personal thing but look forward to the next one. Also @mr.amolgupta say thank you later for Laksh missed you @roshan1970." In yet another photo from the same event, the caption read, “Awesome account @arifali1541 of how the Tamasha story originated."
