Starc revealed how Rohit targeted the wind and smashed the bowler all over the park, giving India the momentum to put up a huge total against the Aussies. Rohit’s magical innings of 92 runs off just 41 deliveries took the game away from the Australians, and it all started in the third over against Starc.

India found themselves in trouble having lost the wicket of Kohli with just 6 runs on the board in 2 overs. This is when Rohit decided to take matters into his own hands as he hit Starc for 29 runs in the over completely shifting the momentum in India’s favour.
The over included four sixes and a four with Rohit targeting the pacer on every ball. He picked up a single on the final delivery to keep the strike.

Starc eventually got the last laugh as he bowled Rohit for 92 runs, but the damage was already done, Rohit’s brilliant innings helped India pile up over 200 runs, eventually winning the game by 21 runs in a must-win game for the Aussies.

However, Starc has opened up in a recent interview about the over that completely changed the game. Starc revealed that he bowled five bad balls and Rohit simply targeted the wind against the Aussie quick.
I have played lot against Rohit, he had a great tournament, especially backend, he targeted the wind, I had 5 bad balls and he hit all for sixes.
After smashing Starc for 29 runs, it simply became impossible for the Aussie bowlers to control the flow of runs against the Indian batters, especially Rohit. Once the 35-year-old got the momentum, he never stopped.
Rohit’s innings proved to be the difference maker on the day, causing a huge upset for the Australians as the lost eventually resulted in them getting knocked out of the tournament before the semi-finals.
On the other hand, India went on to lift the T20 World Cup in some style as they avenged their semi-final loss from the 2022 edition against the English, and later on defeated South Africa who were playing their first ever World Cup final.
