The fourth World Cup event of the FIS Alpine Skiing season continues this weekend in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
After much speculation about her return from retirement, Lindsey Vonn will not be competing this weekend, but she will be on the slopes. Last week, Vonn successfully completed a series of lower-level downhill and super-G races in Copper Mountain, six years after her last major race.
The 40-year-old skiing legend accumulated enough points to make her eligible for World Cup events, but she did not earn a spot in time for this weekend’s races in Beaver Creek. Instead, Vonn will serve as a forerunner for the U.S. Ski Team and make her World Cup return next weekend in St. Moritz.
