Let’s just say, things could change quickly this winter if some moves fall through.
Going into any offseason with FC Dallas, one of the things that always stands out is what the club will be doing with their allotment of international player slots for the next season.
Each year, Major League Soccer gives clubs eight slots for their 30-man roster. Those slots are tradable for allocation money or as part of a player trade. Players with green cards do not count against the eight spots, as we saw earlier this year when FC Dallas was able to secure some green cards for a couple of players.
As we dive deeper into the busier part of the offseason, it is worth taking some time to examine where the available slots will be for the club. Using the league’s most recent roster profile document, along with the moves already made, FC Dallas will have to do some work to add any other new international players this winter.
