CIF-SS SEMIFINALS
DIVISION 1
Final: Mater Dei 36, Centennial 7
The Division 1 championship game is set. Mater Dei (11-0) will play St. John Bosco (11-1) for the program’s 13th CIF Southern Section football championship on Friday, Nov. 29 at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach. Monarchs senior cornerback Daryus Dixson (Penn State commit) picked off Centennial senior quarterback Husan Longstreet (USC commit) for a 32-yard interception return for a touchdown late in third quarter.
Final: St. John Bosco 20, Orange Lutheran 17
St. John Bosco freshman quarterback Koa Malau’ulu leads the Braves to the Division 1 championship game. Malau’ulu scored on a 39-yard touchdown run in the first half. Bosco junior cornerback Joshua Holland (USC commit) had an interception. Bosco coach Jason Negro’s postgame interview previews the rematch against Mater Dei.
DIVISION 2
Final: Murrieta Valley 55, Oaks Christian 52, OT
Murrieta Valley senior quarterback Bear Bachmeier (Stanford commit) scored a game-winning 12-yard touchdown run in overtime. Oaks Christian led 21-7 late in the second quarter. Murrieta Valley rallied in the second half to force overtime. Murrieta Valley will host Newbury Park in the Division 2 championship game.
Final: Newbury Park 20, Yorba Linda 14
Newbury Park junior quarterback Brady Smigiel (Florida State commit) scored on a 15-yard touchdown run to go up 20-7 in the third quarter. Newbury Park improved to 13-0.
DIVISION 3
Final: Simi Valley 28, Loyola 25
Simi Valley survives and advances to the Division 3 championship game.
Final: Edison 42, Vista Murrieta 14
Edison will host Simi Valley in the Division 3 championship game.
DIVISION 4
Final: St. Bonaventure 20, Apple Valley 13
St. Bonaventure will host Oxnard Pacifica in the Division 4 championship game. St. Bonaventure won the CIF-SS Division 3 title in 2023.
Final: Oxnard Pacifica 28, Thousand Oaks 16
Oxnard Pacifica Alijah Royster sophomore running back had a big game.
DIVISION 5
Final: La Serna 34, Summit 22
La Serna advances to the Division 5 championship game. La Serna won the CIF-SS Division 4 title in 2023.
Final: Palos Verdes 27, Foothill 24
Palos Verdes will host La Serna in the Division 5 championship game. Palos Verdes sophomore quarterback Ryan Rakowski threw for 244 yards with three touchdown passses and ran for 87 yards.
DIVISION 6
Final: Murrieta Mesa 31, St. Francis 28
Murrieta Mesa took a 31-28 lead on the last play of the third quarter.
Final: Glendora 25, Dana Hills 21
Glendora trailed 21-10 in the fourth quarter but rallied to advance to the program’s first CIF-SS championship appearance since 1989. Glendora will host Murrieta Mesa in the Division 6 championship game at Citrus College.
DIVISION 7
Final: Rio Hondo Prep 42, West Torrance 21
Rio Hondo Prep will host Warren in the Division 7 championship game.
Final: Warren 41, Yucaipa 17
Warren has big wins (35-7, 40-14, 41-17) in the team’s first three Division 7 playoffs games.
DIVISION 8
Final: Serrano 10, Lancaster 0
Final: St. Pius X-St. Matthias 21, Salesian 14
St. Pius X-St. Matthias improved to 4-9 overall and will host Serrano in the Division 8 championship game.
DIVISION 9
Final: Highland 27, Quartz Hill 14
Highland rallied and scored 27 unanswered points in the second half to win the game.
Final: Long Beach Wilson 32, Great Oak 13
Wilson quarterback Mack Cooper had three touchdown passes.
Long Beach Wilson defeats Great Oak 32-13 to advance to the CIF SS Division 9 final vs. Quartz Hill. The Bruins will have a chance to win their first ever CIF SS Title. This will be their first trip to the title game as well.
DIVISION 10
3rd Q: St. Anthony 17, Garden Grove Pacifica 14
St. Anthony’s defense hauled in four interceptions in the first half.
3rd Q: Silverado 32, South Pasadena 7
DIVISION 11
Halftime: Portola 10, Baldwin Park 7
Baldwin Park out gained Portola 121-96 in the first half. Portola gets the ball to open the second half.
Halftime: San Gorgonio 21, El Rancho 21
DIVISION 12
Halftime: Palmdale 21, Mary Star 6
Halftime: Rialto Carter 35, Hacienda Heights Wilson 28
DIVISION 13
Final: Gahr 28, Anaheim 12
Gahr quarterback Roman Acosta had three touchdown passes. No. 1 seed Gahr advances to the Division 13 championship game.
3rd Q: Pasadena 37, Lynwood 0
DIVISION 14
Final: San Gabriel 44, Duarte 22
San Gabriel will carry a six-game winning streak into the Division 14 championship game.
Halftime: Pioneer 7, Ganesha 6
Pioneer’s Adrian Lopez scored on a 7-yard touchdown run to go up 7-6 with 5:10 left in the second quarter.
L.A. CITY SEMIFINALS
OPEN DIVISION
Final: Narbonne 27, Birmingham 7
Narbonne advances to the Open Division championship game.
4th Q: Carson 31, San Pedro 31
San Pedro has rallied in the second half. Carson led 24-0 early in the third quarter. Carson defeated San Pedro 31-20 in a Marine League game on Oct. 4.
DIVISION I
3rd Q: Palisades 56, Eagle Rock 31
4th Q: King/Drew 28, Kennedy 7
King/Drew’s Jahmai Torres is having a big game on offense and defense.
DIVISION II
