The conference came four months after it was announced that Houston would host seven matches.

Back in 2022, Houston was one of the 11 United States host cities selected for the World Cup. Along with the U.S. representation, there were three cities selected in Mexico and two in Canada.
This announcement solidifies Houston’s reputation as a popular venue for hosting major sporting events. Texas’ largest city last hosted the Super Bowl in 2017, the March Madness Final Four in 2023 and the College Football Playoff in 2024.
