Greenbrier flag football players say first camp is ‘exciting’ – WRDW

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Dozens of flag football players took to the field at Greenbrier High School this week to learn from the newly dubbed state champions.
This past fall, the Lady Pack became the first girls’ flag football team to bring a state championship home to the CSRA.
It’s the first time that Greenbrier girls’ flag football has hosted something of this magnitude, and more than 50 girls signed up for the camp.
“It’s exciting seeing them challenge themselves and go against each other and compete. It’s fun to watch, especially seeing that they are like the upcoming future of flag football for Greenbrier,” said player Carrington Meyers.
During the camp, they did drills, one-on-ones and more.
Coach Daniel Jordan says the turnout was greater than they could have imagined.
“I feel it’s really good for them so that they can get more practice and more coaching than we had. And then they can, when it comes to high school, they can be ready and prepared to keep on the legacy,” said player Sophie Campanaro.
The three-day camp was for fifth through eighth grades.
Coach Jordan says they plan to give all 55 girls who signed up free access to home games this fall.
