Grand Haven girls soccer season ends in Division 1 state semifinals – localsportsjournal.com

GRAND LEDGE – Grand Haven girls soccer had its postseason run come to an end in the Division 1 state semifinals on Tuesday.

The Bucs fell in a heartbreaking loss, 2-1, to Hartland at Grand Ledge High School.
Grand Haven’s Rosalee Springer gave the Bucs a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick midway through the first half.
Hartland was able to tie the score on a penalty kick by Emma Kastamo to leave the score tied, 1-all at the half.
Claire L’Esperance took a rebound off a corner kick and found the back of the net to give Hartland a 2-1 lead with nine minutes left.
Grand Haven struggled to find shots after the goal as Hartland was alleviate pressure through the long ball.
Hannah Taylor came up with some big saves in the loss for Grand Haven.  She finished with 13 saves.
Hartland outshot the Bucs 15-9 and advances to Fruiday’s state finals against Rochester Adams.
