Granby Rec offers soccer and other springtime activities – Sky-Hi News

The Granby Recreation Department has lots of activities lined up to stay active on these slushy spring days, for both children and adults.
Are you tired of sitting around with nothing to do? Then join the Granby for an adult co-ed volleyball tournament at the Granby Soccer Dome. The tournament format will be pool play into a multi-level tournament. Each team is guaranteed five matches. It will be held on Tuesdays, April 9 and 16, from 7-10 p.m. The cost is $150 per team. There will also be an open gym for all teams Tuesday, April 2, from 7-9 p.m. at the soccer dome.
Get your team together and bring soccer inside. Players must be 16 and older. Games will be held at the Granby Soccer Dome on Thursday nights. League teams consist of six field players and a goalie and must include at least two females on the field at all times. League play will be on Thursdays, April 11 to May 9. Cost is $400 per team. There will also be a drop in soccer night Thursday, April 4 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. for those looking for a team or for team practice. The cost for the drop in night is $5 per person.
The Granby Recreation Department is planning some fantastic youth Friday day camp activities this spring. Upcoming day camp activities include: Denver Zoo on Friday, April 5, Chuck E Cheese’s and the park on Friday, April 12, Activate Indoor Trampoline Center on Friday, April 19, and Coors Field Tour on Friday, April 26. All trips are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and meet at the Granby Community Building. The cost is $40 per person. Pre-registration is required for each day.
The Granby Recreation Department and Shihan Ken Crossman are offering fun Karate classes. Learn the philosophy of the art of karate, develop progressive fundamental karate skills, self defense techniques and traditional Kata forms. There are classes for ages 7 through adult. Classes are offered on Thursday nights for adults, and Saturday mornings to early afternoon for adults and kids at the Granby Community Center.
“Training is a great way for getting physical shape, increasing discipline, focus and greater self-confidence for all ages,” Crossman said.
The next session of the season begins on Thursday, April 4. Registration is going on now, via online, phone, and in person. The cost is $195-$225 for a three-month membership, $370-$425 for a six-month membership and $585-$675 for an annual membership.
