The bright lights of Gillette Stadium are oh-so-close for several South Shore high school football teams.
By Saturday night, we will know who the 16 teams competing for the eight MIAA high school football state championships will be. Heading into the weekend, eight area schools are still alive in the state tournament.
Duxbury (Div. 4) is vying for a three-peat. Marshfield, Scituate, Hanover and Carver are all hoping to return to Gillette after losing in the state finals last year.
