The second round of high school soccer playoffs is in the books.
More Athens-area teams saw their seasons end. Oglethorpe County, Jackson County and Athens Academy girls all fell in opening rounds while Clarke Central, Cedar Shoals and East Jackson boys were unable to get over the hump.
That leaves four still in the hunt for a state championship in 2024. Here are the local programs still alive and their opponents next week in the GHSA quarterfinals.
Quarterfinals will be played Monday and Tuesday.
No. 1 Jefferson vs. No. 1 Northgate — Monday
No. 2 North Oconee at No. 1 Starr’s Mill — Monday
No. 1 Oconee County vs. No. 1 Savannah Country Day — Monday
No. 2 Oconee County at No. 1 Morgan County — Tuesday
